Associate Director, Overseas Engagement
Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“HSITP”, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, is engaged in the planning, building, management, operation and maintenance of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park at the Lok Ma Chau Loop (“the Loop”).
With a site area of 87 hectares, the Loop will be a hub for vigorous technology R&D and collaboration among top-notch international R&D institutions, technology enterprises and talent. The Loop will provide necessary infrastructure, facilities and service support for the innovation and technology (I&T) community; with associated higher education, cultural and creative and other complementary facilities.
Role Purpose:
This is a revenue-focused role for a senior professional with deep experience in technology-related industries and enterprise client acquisition. You will aggressively target overseas large enterprise, institution and technology associations, and to position the park as a leading destination for facility setup and business expansion. Similar overseas business development roles often require strategic stakeholder engagement, market development, and partnership-building across government, institutional, and industry channels.
The ideal candidate is a hunter, not a caretaker — someone who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities, and closing business. You should be comfortable operating at senior level, influencing key stakeholders, and driving measurable commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business acquisition in overseas markets with a strong focus on technology, innovation, and enterprise clients
- Identify, pursue, and close office leasing opportunities with overseas government agencies, universities, technology associations, and tech companies
- Build a robust pipeline of high-potential prospects and move opportunities quickly through the sales cycle
- Form strategic alliances and partnerships with relevant organizations to expand the park’s reach and credibility
- Lead direct sales and channel sales efforts targeting enterprise-level decision-makers
- Represent the park in international business development meetings, trade missions, and industry events
- Negotiate commercial terms and secure commitments from tenants and strategic partners
- Work closely with internal teams to package the park’s offering into compelling, market-ready value propositions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
- Minimum 12 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or related commercial roles with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in winning new business and closing deals with overseas enterprise clients via channel sales and direct sales
- Strong background in technology-related industries, demonstrated success engaging overseas government bodies, large enterprise, industry associations, and institutional stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Highly self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
