Manager, Ecosystem Development (Entrepreneurship)
Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“HSITP”, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, is engaged in the planning, building, management, operation and maintenance of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park at the Lok Ma Chau Loop (“the Loop”).
With a site area of 87 hectares, the Loop will be a hub for vigorous technology R&D and collaboration among top-notch international R&D institutions, technology enterprises and talent. The Loop will provide necessary infrastructure, facilities and service support for the innovation and technology (I&T) community; with associated higher education, cultural and creative and other complementary facilities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Ecosystem Development, the Manager will:
Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute institutional partnerships with universities and research institutions
- Pre-screen the funding needs of Park companies (including Incubatees, Licensees and Tenants)
- Maintain a deep understanding of available funding (local and non-local grants, investment pathways etc.) and facilitate the applications process where necessary
- Monitor and evaluate funding outcomes, including Public funding granted and Funding raised by Park companies
- Manage the start-up pipeline by maintaining a comprehensive database of university-originated projects
- Track development milestones, interest areas, Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), and engagement history for all pipeline leads
- Provide monthly updates and analytical reports on pipeline progress to the Senior Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline
- Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years of experience within universities, institutions, NGOs, start-up support or related fields. Prior experience in technology Parks or start-up incubator and funding programmes is an advantage
- Demonstrated understanding of the start-up ecosystem and entrepreneurship trends
- Proven track record of liaising/communicating with the government bodies, NGOs and industry. Experience in administering government funding schemes and/or government-funded projects is an advantage
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, attentive to details and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
- Frequent Travel or Permanent Work in Lok Ma Chau Office is required (Shuttle bus service & MTR concession scheme is available)
