Senior Manager, Supercomputing Center
Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“HSITP”, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, is engaged in the planning, building, management, operation and maintenance of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park at the Lok Ma Chau Loop (“the Loop”).
With a site area of 87 hectares, the Loop will be a hub for vigorous technology R&D and collaboration among top-notch international R&D institutions, technology enterprises and talent. The Loop will provide necessary infrastructure, facilities and service support for the innovation and technology (I&T) community; with associated higher education, cultural and creative and other complementary facilities.
Reporting to Associate Director, Supercomputing Center, this role is to oversees all technical and operational functions including critical infrastructure management, 24/7 operations, construction & capital projects, sustainability, compliance, vendor governance.
Responsibilities:
- Support in formulating the 3-to-5-year data center, supercomputing center and intelligent computing capacity roadmap aligned with HSITP's priorities, including the appropriate balance of build-to-suit and colocation solutions
- Manage the data center department's annual OpEx and multi-year CapEx planning, ROI tracking, rack capacity and revenue forecasting, cost optimization and profitability analysis for cross-border facilities, and provide recommendations to the Associate Director
- Manage the asset portfolio and oversee the full lifecycle delivery of new data center builds, expansions, retrofits and AI computing zones, coordinating architecture, MEP and construction vendors
- Coordinate Hong Kong Buildings Department statutory approvals, logistics for heavy power and cooling equipment, and cross-site safety alignment
- Manage acceptance testing, cutover and migration of tenant workloads, minimizing disruption to R&D and AI training operations
- Develop and implement standardized SOPs, maintenance cycles and asset management practices across Hong Kong and Shenzhen sites, and support the deployment of unified DCIM automation for real-time cross-campus monitoring
- Implement HSITP's data center ESG initiatives by optimizing PUE, supporting renewable energy integration, and implementing water recycling and low-carbon cooling solutions for high-density AI racks
- Collaborate across teams to design customized colocation, data rack leasing and private AI pod solutions for global R&D institutions, biotech startups, cloud vendors and industrial enterprises
- Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with key stakeholders, including government departments, Shenzhen Park, power utilities, submarine cable operators, telecom carriers, construction contractors and certification bodies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline; MBA or MSc in Infrastructure Management is preferred
- Minimum 10 years progressive data/ supercomputing center critical infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years at supervisory level
- Prior experience in managing AI / HPC / supercomputing data center
- Experience with FM200 fire suppression, high-density liquid cooling and renewable energy for data center is preferred
- Professional certifications such as Holder of Registered Electrical Worker license Grade H, Registered Safety Officer, and Uptime Institute ATD or equivalent cross-border data compliance credentials are highly preferred
- Strong business ownership mindset, agile & adaptable
- Excellent influencing skills, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Frequent Travel or Permanent Work in Lok Ma Chau Office is required (Shuttle bus service & MTR concession scheme is available)
